A winter family holiday in Saalbach Hinterglemm
In a top skiing region like the ski circus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, families, too, may choose from a wide range of winter activities. This could be the place where your children make their first attempts at skiing - and whatever else you opt for, you are bound to travel home with a suitcase full of unforgettable memories of your holiday in the snow. Rides in a horse-drawn sleigh, day trips, activities and - last, but not least - your accommodation provider, the hotel Das Zwölferhaus, will take care of this.
In a country such as Austria, with its long winter sports tradition, the quality of ski instruction is extremely high. In addition to ski and snowboard lessons for children and adults, the ski schools also offer instructions in alternative winter sports such as cross-country skiing, snow-shoe hiking and ski trekking. From the age of 3, your little ones can attend the ski kindergarten, where they will be introduced to snow and ski equipment in a playful way. While you enjoy the pistes, the kids will have plenty of fun under the watchful eyes of our certified ski instructors.
If your children are even younger, benefit from the Family Card, designed for parents with young children up to the age of 3. Parents are able to take turns in using one Family Card - this means that one of them can look after the little one(s) while the other one swishes down the slopes, all for a single one-off partner fee. A great way to combine childcare duties and winter fun in a family-friendly way!
Ice-skating in Hinterglemm
Rekindle some memories of your own childhood while taking the kids ice-skating. In Hinterglemm, just a short distance from the hotel Das Zwölferhaus and the Zwölferkogelbahn gondola lift, an outdoor ice rink awaits, complete with skate rental. In winter, the ice rink is open daily from 10am until 10pm.
A ride in a horse-drawn sleight in the Glemmtal Valley
Not just horse lovers and incurable romantics will find a sleigh ride through the snow-covered landscape simply irresistible. A ride in a horse-drawn sleigh will be the crowning glory of your holiday in Saalbach Hinterglemm. From the far end of the valley, you will go up to Lindlingalm pasture, where you can stop for refreshments. Gliding past the snow-covered fields and houses, all warmly tucked up, will make for lasting memories and wonderful pictures for your album.
Museum of local history and skiing
The museum of local history in Saalbach presents the skiing history of this winter sport region in Salzburg. There are more than 300 exhibits to be admired, from the very first ski all the way to today's high-tech professional sports equipment.
